The Black Atlantic | The Flooded Road

Unfamiliar with Netherland’s The Black Atlantic? In 2009 they released the haunting-yet-meditative Reverence For Fallen Trees, a 10-track album offered completely for *free* that ended up topping my favorites of ‘09 list.

I’ve been watching over the past couple of months as they’ve been gearing up to release a new EP entitled Darkling, I Listen - Slowcoustic was a bit quicker to the punch than I in posting the first listen to the EP, a track entitled The Flooded Road, but I bet our anticipation for anything new from these guys is pretty evenly matched. According to the Beep! Beep! website we can look forward to a free stream of Darkling, I Listen on December 5th and a full-on release of the EP this January 13th.

Find out more about the album at the band’s website - this is a group sincerely dedicated to their craft. If you appreciate what you hear, please consider supporting their latest effort. And, once again, you can pick up their debut album Reverence For Fallen Trees right here. See a video for one of my favorite tracks off that album, I Shall Cross This River, below:
