Peter Broderick | Old Time
Music For Confluence, a new project by Peter Broderick is set for release on November 28th. According to the soundcloud page “Created for documentary filmmakers Jennifer Anderson and Vernon Lott, the soundtrack takes the listener through waves of stark emotions.” The video for Old Time, a track which saw an early release with the Old Time / Solace In Gala double A-side single, has a distinct nostalgic feel of revisiting places that once meant something to someone.
As of yet, I’m not sure if this is a common theme throughout the album, but Music For Confluence promises to be another stripped-down, solemn set of tracks crafted by the former member of Efterklang, and may even shine greater with the emphasis on instrumental tracks tailor-made for the documentary Confluence. About the documentary? In the words of Broderick himself:
All winter, when I wasn’t traveling and playing concerts, I was locked away in this new space creating. I had been asked to make the score for a documentary film called Confluence. The film is based in the Lewiston, Idaho area, not too far from where I grew up in the USA, and it chronicles several mysterious cases of young girls found murdered or gone missing around 1980, all of which seem to lead back to one man who for a variety of reasons has not been able to be charged with these crimes.
