Shearwater | Breaking The Yearlings

Austin, TX’s indie rockers have upped the “edge”-factor since previous releases, if what we’re hearing here is any indication of the sound from their upcoming album Animal Joy. Joining Washed Out, Fleet Foxes, and others like them, Shearwater will be releasing the album via Sub Pop on February 14th.

Fans of the band will recall the excellent full-length The Golden Archipelago - while there’s a definite new element present on Breaking The Yearlings, it doesn’t stray far enough to warrant any fear about a negative change in the music. Rather, this early taste oughtta be more than enough to whet anyone’s appetite on what could be their greatest work to date. We’ll see.
